play date (the first of many)

vance & celine and their kids are in town for the next several weeks! hooray! we had a little play date with them. jedidiah didn't do much playing. he sat contently in his car seat and watched slept while the others were slippin' and slidin'! hopefully this was the first play date of many this summer!

bentley LOVES diah!  we went over to their house yesterday and right when i set jed down in the car seat, bentley held out his arms to him, cocked his head and said, "hold you. hold you."

i got a minor injury the other day. in the middle of the night he was screaming, so out of desperation i decided to get the vacuum out of the closet.  with jed in my left hand and the vacuum in my right, i attempted to drag it downstairs where there was an outlet. it flipped and fell and hit me on the toe. we did eventually make it...bleeding toe and all.  he stopped crying 3 seconds after i turned it on. well worth it. our electricity bill might be higher this month because the vacuum is on several minutes of the day. but i will gladly pay a couple dollars to have a happy baby.

in the middle of the night last night, i finally got him to sleep. when i looked in the mirror (to see if he was sleeping), i couldn't believe how small he looked!

a visit to Kindergarten

Jedidiah and I made a little trip to kindergarten today.  The kids were really excited, but a little bit shy.  That didn't take long for the shyness to wear off for a handful of them! I wish that I would have had some time to spend a little one-on-one time with each of them.  I'm sure the girls would have had lots of questions. I should have had someone writing down everything they were saying as I was sitting up in front of them.


My favorite was, "Mrs. Hornacek...your stomach is shorter."  Why thank you, Natalie!


"How many are you coming back?"  (This is not a typo. That is what he said.)


"How old is he?" 
Me: "Four weeks."  
"So how old is he?"  
Me: "Four weeks."  *Blank stare*  "He's about 28 days old."  
Another student-"Hey! YOU'RE 28 years and he's 28 days!!"  
Another student-"He's zero." 


They gave me a mother's day gift! I can't believe that I get to celebrate this mother's day as a MOM!!  They also made a prediction book about Jed.

jedidiah got to meet uncle jared for the very first time on monday!

and he lost his umbilical cord on monday too. what a huge day! ha!

we took a walk in the moby wrap, and he loves it!

he turned 3 weeks old yesterday. apparently he doesn't like getting so old.
