at the alamo. shawn and dj couldn't stop talking about it the night before. they even watched a movie about the alamo last weekend.

a new trick!

3 months

wow! jed is almost a year old! just kidding. :) but 3 more of these time-spans and he will be!!

he is changing SO much. each month he gets more and more interactive! it's so fun to "talk" to him!

Jedidiah...

sucks his thumb all the time

falls asleep in the stroller on our daily afternoon walk

practices riding a bicycle (he kicks his legs like crazy!)

examines his feet
falls asleep for the night during or after Conan (11:00p.m.)

sleeps 4 hours at a time at night
eats on the odd numbered hours (1:00, 3:00, 5:00, etc...)
rarely needs the vacuum anymore!
still likes being bounced on the exercise ball, but we don't have to be as crazy!
talks and talks
loves to stare at the fan/light.
smiles when he sees the clock on the wall
rolled over from his back to his tummy

and jed will take his very first airplane ride tomorrow to austin, texas for uncle jared's wedding!

just the boys

4th of july!

our fourth of july was a hot one! we started out our day by having lunch at shawn and anna's.  we watched nathan's hot dog eating contest...obviously.  anna and i and the little boys stayed at their house and the big boys (dj and shawn) went to the fireworks stand. they were suddenly 12 years old all over again. they made a special 5-mile trip to bucky's to get the best fountain pop for all of us for the holiday...obviously. then we headed over to anna's mom's house to have hot dogs. we went to the ashland fireworks show that night, as we have for the past several years. then we headed home for shawn and dj's personal show. again...obviously. shawn has been putting on a midnight fireworks display since as long as i can remember. 

on the 3rd, we went to werner park to watch their show. dj was holding jed and everytime dj would turn away a little bit, jedidiah would strain his neck to keep watching them. and, as always, shawn announced the "names" of each artillery shell (things like "saturn's majesty" or "tropical sunrise") . and after each one,  you could hear a little 2-year-old echo saying the same thing, but in a smaller voice. it was so cute!

happy july, everyone! this month is really special for several reasons! 

#1. independence day is wednesday!

#2. our 3 year anniversary is next wednesday!

#3. jed turns 3 months old on our anniversary!

#4. jared is getting married!
