swinging & jumping

on saturday, it was so nice that we decided to take a family trip to the park to swing.  it didn't last long because it got extremely windy. but jedidiah still had fun!

we spent the afternoon at my friend nicole's house the other day. her little girl, isla, has just started crawling so she doesn't use the jumper as much. jed has been loving it at our house!

7 months

Jedidiah...

sits and plays by himself
shakes toys to rattle them
listens to me read books for a long time
reaches for me
sleeps in the car (hooray!)
loves to look at the baby announcements on the fridge
has greatly improved his hand-eye coordination over the month
eats real food (sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, and bananas)
copies us when we yell or make loud noises
says something that sounds like "hi, dad!" we pretend that he really says it.
opens his mouth really really wide to scream with excitement, to yell out of anger, or to cry harder.
puts his thumb in his mouth and lays on my chest to let me know he needs a nap
smiles and kicks with excitement when dad comes home from work
popped his first tooth!

phone dump

bentley "tired eyes" kliewer  came over to our house one morning while anna got her hair done. and then she brought us back lunch from her mom's cafe! mmmm.

bentley picked out these clothes for diah to wear. "what happens at grandma's, stays at grandma's."

after 290 days of reading in the Old Testament (from January 1st ), we finally made it to the New Testament. My quest to read the Bible in a year is almost done!

Noah's Ark. One of his favorite books.

When Bentley was over we were playing with these ducks.
I said, "Where's the mommy duck?" (he points to the big one)
Then I said, "Where are the baby ducks?" (points to the little ones)
Bentley said, "Where's the daddy duck?" ha.

game day!

examining a mentos wrapper

this was a cute sight to see when i came back from subbing one day

green beans

sometimes we read the book, sometimes i file my nail on it.

dj has been looking for an old-time red lantern. we stumbled upon this one in a tiny (or not so tiny!) ashland thrift/antique store.

i think this elephant was worth like $30 or something at that same store.
which kind of makes me want to sell THIS one that i got from my grandpa and grandma's house.

turns out that "get a free bag of Tootsie Pops if you send in the wrapper with the Native American guy shooting a star" is actually a myth!

Four of my six chapsticks that i own (in various locations--car, coat, nightstand, bathroom, diaper bag, computer desk) are like this one. so low that i have to scrape it out with my fingernail. dumb! buy new ones!

Primavera Pizza=yum!  chicken, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, and spinach with parmesan, garlic and ranch for the sauce.
we finally got a real Chick-fil-A in Omaha! we made the trip to go eat on the second day that it was open. it was PACKED, but they were super super efficient and organized and it didn't take us long to stand in line, order, and get our food. i was pretty amazed. and it was good!

Subbing for Kerri one day.  She got this note..."Dear Miss Lewis, Thank you for letting me bring my python for Show and Tell."  apparently that happened six weeks prior to the thank you note!

one last halloween post

uncanny

i was re-looking through my pictures from last night, and Jed totally reminded me of an Easter cake pop that I made a few years ago!
